SCHEDULE FOR 2010 FOOD SAFETY CLASSES ANNOUNCED

TOBE Co. Food Safety Offers Discounts for HRA, HHLA Members

KANEOHE, HI – TOBE Co. Food Safety today announced its 2010 schedule and pricing for ServSafe® Food Safety Training and Certification Classes.

“Restaurant operators in Hawaii are becoming more aware of challenges to Food Safety and the need for training, so our business is growing steadily,” said TOBE Co. President Tom Frigge.  “Now we need the public to demand that food be safe.  Anybody who eats in a restaurant should want their food prepared by someone who has had this training.”  There is currently no law in Hawaii requiring Food Safety Training for restaurant workers as there is in most other states, “a dangerous situation,” Frigge says.

The first class of 2010 is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19, the next is February 16.  Additional dates and other information can be found on their website, TOBECoFoodSafety.com.  Classes on Maui and the Big Island will also be on the schedule this year.

With the State Employment & Training Fund Program no longer funded, TOBE Co. Food Safety is helping members of the Hawaii Restaurant Association and the Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association with a 15% discount on the price of tuition.  That means $25 off the regular price of $164 in these tough times.

ServSafe is the “Gold Standard” for Food Safety Education.  One of only two programs approved by the Conference for Food Protection to meet the requirements set forth in the FDA Model Food Code, the National Restaurant Association reports millions across the country have become “ServSafe Certified.”

Mr. Frigge has been teaching ServSafe in Hawaii and around the Pacific Rim for over five years.  He has a three-year appointment to the Advisory Council for Food Protection Practices, and is a member of the Hawaii Restaurant Association Board of Directors.

SCHEDULE FOR 2009 SERVSAFE® CLASSES ANNOUNCED

TOBE Co. Food Safety Continues As ETF Vendor

KANEOHE, HI – TOBE Co. Food Safety today announced its 2009 schedule and pricing for ServSafe Food Safety Classes.

TOBE Co. President Tom Frigge said, “We’re very happy to continue to provide this all important service to the restaurants and people of Hawaii.”  Even though there is currently no state law requiring Food Safety Training for restaurant workers, as there is in most other states, Frigge says “it is still extremely important and the right thing to do.  Besides protecting the health of those who live and eat out in Hawaii, this training also helps protect our biggest industry, tourism.”

TOBE Co. Food Safety has been an approved vendor under the Employment & Training Fund Program for several years.  The State program run by the Workplace Development Division will pay half the tuition for eligible students, making these one-day classes some of the least expensive in the entire country.

The first class of 2009 is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, the next is February 17.  Additional dates can be found on their website, TOBECoFoodSafety.com.

ServSafe is the “Gold Standard” for Food Safety Education in the United States.  One of only two programs approved by the Conference for Food Protection to meet the requirements set forth in the FDA Model Food Code, the National Restaurant Association reports millions across the country have become “ServSafe Certified.”

Mr. Frigge has been teaching ServSafe in Hawaii and around the Pacific Rim for over three years.  He has a three-year appointment to the Advisory Council for Food Protection Practices.  This group of Food Safety Experts makes recommendations to the State Legislature about how Hawaii Food Safety Laws should be amended in light of recent scientific research.
